Blaze a Trail, Fly a Kite, Enjoy the View at Cross Creek Ranch April 29

How much fun can your family have in a single day? Find out on Saturday, April 29, during the Cross Creek Ranch Hit the Trails Family Festival where blazing a trail, flying a kite and enjoying a picnic overlooking a picturesque lake is just the beginning of your adventures!

Pack your walking shoes, scooters, bicycles and skateboards for the day as we open our 28 miles of beautiful walking, cycling and hiking trails to the public from noon to 4 p.m. We will have special trails maps available to help you explore every inch of our nature-friendly community including the nature areas and “living edges” along the banks of Flewellen Creek, which is designed to be fully self-sustaining, self-perpetuating and self-nourishing for plants and wildlife.

“But wait,” as they say, “there’s more!” Our Welcome Center will be ground zero for host of exciting, free activities the entire family can enjoy, including

• The first 500 families will receive a free backpack stocked with goodies for the trail 
• Stunt kites performing daring aerial tricks, plus free kites to fly on The Hill
• Majestic, tethered hot air balloons available for selfies or photos that will look great in the family newsletter
• Heart-pounding water action with remote-controlled boat racing courtesy of the Heart of Texas Model Boat Club
• Sack lunches available from the Italian Maid Café
• Street eats by Good Dog Houston, The Burger Joint and Sweet Ride Ice Cream
• Free pedi-cab transportation to The Hill to enjoy a picnic overlooking the lake
• A chance to meet the four-legged heroes of the Fulshear City Police Department Canine Unit 
• An amazing 75-foot obstacle course bounce house
• A castle bounce house
• Face painting stations, live music and more

Hit the Trails Family Festival is just one of the many activities open to the public during Houston’s Largest Home Tour. The tour, sponsored by Cross Creek Ranch developer Johnson Development Corp., encourages the public to visit hundreds of homes, including 150 models in 14 Johnson communities throughout April.
