Good news for Cross Creek Ranch residents now — the Texas Heritage Parkway is now open!
The 6-mile project is a north/south thoroughfare from FM 1093 (Westpark Tollway) to Interstate 10 at the Pederson Road interchange. A 10-foot-wide trail system runs alongside the parkway making the road safer for cyclists and pedestrians.
Texas Heritage Parkway was the result of a public/private partnership coming together over the last 15 years. The $55 million dollar price tag was split between private landowners, Fort Bend County, and the cities of Fulshear and Katy. The land for the project was also donated by the local landowners.
What does all that mean for Cross Creek Ranch residents? An easier commute to work and quicker emergency response times. New commercial and public development is expected to follow, including a new library. The library broke ground in July. The site for the new facility is located between Fulshear High School and the Texas Heritage Parkway’s first roundabout traffic circle. For more in-depth information on roundabouts, click here.
