Fulshear High School — the newest high school zoned to Cross Creek Ranch — is already stocking the trophy case due to the efforts of its marching band.
Under the direction of Andrew Lee, the band brought home several awards last month, including achieving a Division 1 Superior rating in its first UIL marching competition.
Performing a program of music entitled, “Take to the Skies,” composed and arranged by Ian Grom and John Mapes, the band also marched away with a Division 1 trophy from the Edna Invitational Marching Festival. They received a rating of “1” from the judges, the highest that can be earned in a marching competition. At the band’s first competition, the LCISD Marching Festival, they were awarded Outstanding Percussion and Outstanding Soloist.
Participation in the Charger Marching Band is just one of the many ways Fulshear High students show their Purple Pride. In addition to the band, students can participate in the choir, color guard and drama. The school also offers a full roster of sports and numerous clubs.
Young residents of Cross Creek Ranch attend highly regarded schools in both the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District and the Katy Independent School District. For more information about the schools, click here.
